Squirrels

Just had a very enjoyable time watching 4 red squirrels in the garden, just hope that they are not burying nuts already. We have dug up dozens of baby walnut trees already this year.

I never ever see the squirrels here, but judging by the number of baby oaks and the way the walnuts disappear, they're out there :D

We've just returned from a campsite in the dunes and pine trees and I saw a squirrel a couple of times - a wonderful flash of orange against the dark trees.

Never seen a squirrel at home but do see them from time to time on the 8km drive down to town.

We do however often see a loss of hazel nuts and have walnut trees sprouting up far from the existing mature trees. Having said that we know we have martin (probably stone) from the scat found around the garden as well as lerot which we have actually seen - perched on a light about 9m above the ground.
