I buy the yearly calendar from the post lady but TBH I hardly ever look at it. Today deciding to browse through it I found this at the bottom of the month of September and thought of you. How much is a box of chalk I've no idea but I guess pretty cheap in the toy section of the supermarket?

Can I just ask those whose French skills I only envy..... in what sense is "tenir" used here? I get the gist, but wonder why tenir was chosen.

I'm wondering if it's a typo and should be ternir.

yep, my typo should read as ternir. Too many 'r's a bit like our address - 2 'r's and 2 'n's but the letters always arrive misspelt missing one or t'other - looks like I've joined the club

I wouldn't worry about it - I think everyone's in the same club at some time or the other.
