They're getting more and more prevalant because of the use of chopped wood waste in compost. That's their ideal environment. Same goes for compost (sciarid) flies. Oh the joys of ecological gardening :D

@Bayleaf It's a type of coccinelle and would be a natural predator of the Australian cochenilles that are on one of mimosas.
