I watched this programme last night - it was different and I found it quite enchanting set in France.

It's lovely isn't it Sparkle, I especially like the narrator's voice.

I think I have now seen it most years since it came out in 2016/17 .. IIRC there is a French version too, as I seem to remember the language being French.
Although totally concocted for me it is the mixing of animals, location and the inspiring choice of Tchéky Karyo as narrator which makes it magical .. IMHO of course.

started to watch then realised I'd seen it before, Stone Martin in the car was a good bit, we had one in the garden last year, OH thought it was so sweet and went to stroke it, then all hell broke loose, bloody noise it was shouting and screaming at her, chased her across the gravel, vicious little buggers.

I hadn't realised it had been released 2016/17 and haven't come across it before but as @suein56 mentions the narrator did make it rather magical and dreamy - I did have to stop myself from nodding a couple of times as his voice was sooooo relaxing

and it was great for once to be able to watch something on the TV that wasn't a repeat (well for me anyway).

that made me laugh.

A couple of years ago on a 6am walk around the village a pine martin came towards me with 3 kittens (if that's what the babies are called) it was a lovely moment and they were adorable (yes I know I wouldn't think so if they were in my house/shed). She came within feet of me before crossing the lane and disappearing into the fosse. The same morning over a coffee with my French neighbours I told them what I'd seen (at the time I didn't know it was a pine martin). Suddenly Monsieur took off to get their son who lives a couple of doors away and I had to give a description and I was shown pictures from a magazine to ascertain what it was. Talk about interrogated

Apparently the son had noticed for some time something(s) lodging/nesting and destroying things in his large wooden garage/barn. With that they decided that this was the culprit a pine martin and action would be taken - I don't know the outcome and have never asked cos I know that both father & son do quite a lot of shooting

One of the cats brought home a stoat one day, God knows how she got hold of it but a sweet little thing, managed to get it away and released

Karyo was a name I remember from the rather confused ‘The Name of the Rose’ tv miniseries and from ‘Baptiste’. Filmed in Puycelsi, not far from Toulouse (anyone know it?).

From the lack of fear of you and the environment, it is far more likely to have been a stone martin than a pine martin.
