The Tale of Five Cats and Three Dogs
I only have one cat now, he's 18 and has slowed down considerably in the last year. We feed a stray tom, abandoned when his owners moved during the first lockdown. I don't letr him into the house as our cat went wild when he once managed to get in via an open window and sprayed his perfume everywhere.

Absolutely adorable.
There is an old cat flap though fitted by previous owners of the house; through a wall (on either side of the wall are the two flap parts with a short tunnel in between). I'm not sure any of the cats, bar Sox would ever master that! Apart from our custom-made, very thick front door (which it would be sacrilege to saw chunks out of) all our other house entrances are French window-type doors and totally unsuited for cat flaps. So, if they did move in, they would have to rely on litter trays and being let in and out during the day. Any further bright ideas?
I can just imagine Tawny standing in front of any cat flap just saying 'Mwaah, Mwaah, Mwaah all day and night.

We have a cat flap through a door into a conservatory and then access through a window into the house.
The reactions are different:
Some use it in and out
Some use it in but not out
Some use it out but not in
Some don't/won't use it at all
Some can use it but still expect the servants to open the front door for them.

It's the ones that will use neither a cat flap nor a litter tray that worry me!

The Tale of Five Cats and Three Dogs
2 and 1/2 months later, little has changed. Sox comes in a few times during the day and stays long enough to have a few treats, but she quite clearly prefers to be back in her own domain living the life she's always known. Tiny came into the lounge two or three times but didn't show any inclination to have a thorough look around. The other two have made no attempt to so much as view the indoor living accommodation and are quite happily staying with what they are used to. It looks as though they have all decided on their outdoor life with meals supplied.
