I thought they were there to find homes for pets

Just back from Redon where we were united with a cracker of a Griffon x.
She's about 6 yo & was very recently found wandering with no chip & was brought in by the dog catcher.
Very gentle thing who walked well on the the lead & didn't chase the resident cat. No idea what she'll be like with horses & chooks but you can't test 'em for everything :) Spent some time with her & all good.
Absolutely minging at the moment but should scrub up well when we get her to the groomers.
She's due to be sterilised on monday & can come home with us the following saturday.
Didn't want to leave her to acquire bad habits from the other inmates but that's unavoidable. Looking forward to seeing how she reacts to our home environment.
Just got to think of a name for her now. All suggestions welcome.

Awwwwww she's gorgeous, what a lucky girl - perhaps you could call her Lucky !!
We've rarely been able to choose our dogs' names over the years, just 2 out of 7 - Sweep and Loki (both girls).

Yes, she is a beauty. I like the name Lucky too.

Congratulations on your new family member. I'll be curious to hear all about the coming days/weeks as she learns about her new family/home.

Cheers folks.
Can't wait to get her home.
We've both come up with the name Jessie so Jess it is.

You couldn't make it up!
We were due to pick up Jessie on Sat. this week but mailed the SPA on Mon. to ask if we could do it on Fri. as the groomer could fit us in last thing that day & didn't work weekends.
No way would they let us as the '7 day period of reflection' would not be up.
Yesterday (Tues) they phoned us to say that their vet could not fit in the sterilisation due that day so could we pick up Jess asap & arrange for our vet to do the job with them paying.
It was too late for us to make the 4 hr round trip so we're off this morning to get her but after 1300hrs as they don't open for anyone in the morning. So much for the 7 day reflection
It appears that their vet has done the micro chip & necessary jabs etc. but we'll have to verify that when we get there. We just want the gal out of there asap.
The groomer can fit us in tomorrow (thurs) followed by a visit to the vet to check she's OK for the sterilization booked in for friday. Good job folk our end are helpfull.
Hell of a performance but hopefully well worth it to give another mutt a good home :D

It's a shame they seem to make things so complicated ... interesting about the 7 days reflection .... when it suits them ! Not a bad idea, but if you've booked a groomer, it shows some sort of commitment !
Like the name Jessie - very popular in Scotland in the 19th century !! One of my grandmothers was christened "Jessie Thomasina" but she called herself "Jenny" !!

Good luck on the journey. Nothing is ever straight forward anymore.

Hope she's not too nervous with all this upheaval.
