Sterilisation done with no probs. & Jess back home complete with cone of shame which we've taken off as long as she's in our sight. Vet thinks she's less than the 6 yo the SPA said.
Total cock up re fees now the SPA vet couldn't do the op.
We've now paid €270 in cash to the SPA Redon plus a cheque de caution? of €300 & to our vets ,CB of €117 for costs over & above that which the SPA will pay plus a cheque de caution of €191 in case the SPA don't pay their bill. OK the cheques will be torn up as long as SPA cough up & we prove the sterilisation has been done but what a performance! It'll still cost us minimum of €387 'cos their vet couldn't perform. Good job we're not skint but certainly a word of caution to anyone else considering adoption from this SPA as we've now potentialy laid out best part of €900 for an adoption reputedly costing €270.
As a matter of principle is bloody annoying but the important thing is that Jessie's back where she belongs & nobody's gonna change that.

So glad to hear the 'op' went as it should. Poor thing will be under the weather for a few days I presume.

I thought she looked younger than 6 myself too, but of course, I am no expert.

The entire process (money and other) does seem really a mess. I wonder if this happens with all their adoptions. Sad as many people would not be able to afford that kind of outlay of cash all at one go.

How have I missed all this excitement? Wow, I'm so pleased for you two and Jessie. What a beauty she is (you probably are too!). She appears to be a very laid-back girlie. If she's anything like my previous girls, she'll be over the op in no time and raring to go. All the best to all of you.

My family has a saluki and they can’t have the cones so she got a special vest from the vets

Awww those piccies are gorgeous !
We used a T shirt on one of ours and it was much more comfortable than a lampshade which she kept bashing against furniture, door frames etc.
