OH and I do win a small amount on a regular basis and we declare this income as Interest on our Tax declaration.
Premium Bonds state in their Terms and Conditions that 'winnings' are often taxable if you live abroad.

EU law refers to PBs as bons à tirer. Well, tirer implies a tirage, i.e., a draw, like the lottery. Some clown in Brussels screwed up big time when drafting the law, which seems par for the course. Many of their linguists are nul.

It is the taxation of Premium Bonds under French law which applies. That was explained in the reply from the French Tax office in my first post viewtopic.php?p=53355#p53355

Same here but I'm waiting for a letter/email asking why my interest increased last year compared to previous years - for some unknown reason I had a few winnings from Ernie last year!

Unless you won a lot (thousands) I'm not sure the Fisc would be too worried.
Our winnings total fluctuates quite a bit.
