Tax on state pension?

To be honest, Dom I know nothing of how any tax allowance works, nor how to determine what the DWP taxes or doesn't tax for amounts it mistakenly didn't pay in the past. I admit this whole thing is way beyond my capacity to understand. We are just going to lay it all before the local tax office and get them (if they can) to tell us how much of it they want. It was paid to the OH this month and therefore is to be declared next year. Bottom line.
