My browser has an auto translate function but reading it in English doesn't help much. I'll wait and see what Fonciere bill comes in the post later this year.
On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.

Good Lord ! Well they do go on to explain each exoneration in detail.

I understood the revenue plafond bit, but didn't read all the explanations of the rest of the specific exonerations. We wouldn't qualify for any of them.

The easiest one to understand is for the over 75s, but I still think that depends on income.

Yep, over 75's are subject to income plafonds also.

Any exoneration will be given automatically depending on the circumstances, your tax declaration, revenu fiscal de référence, etc or if you have declared any building work, property purchase, and have submitted the correct declarations. I don't think there are any significant differences from previous years except for some uplifts in the scales.

Exoneration taxe foncière 2024

Basically, if you're over 75 on 1/1/2024 with an income of less than €19107 (for a couple), you should be exempt.

Savings (capital) are not income. What capital produces (dividends, interest, etc) is income.

In the financial income case, it is not the net income that is used to determine whether there is exoneration. It is the revenu fiscal de référence (RFR) which appears on your tax avis.

RFR is a different calculation and excludes various abatements, etc which are allowed for the tax calculation and reduce the amount of tax paid so could be higher.

The link above gives the RFR for 1 household part as 12455 € and 2 parts 19107 € for those in mainland France.

Just wait for your avis. The exoneration will be applied automatically, if you qualify.
