I'm still in the surgical ward, I've made little progress with walking, standing. The nurses are so busy, so uncaring and I do realise how much they have to do.

The wound continues to weep, which by now it shouldn't so says the Dr.

When they do get me out of bed they leave me in a chair, this becomes uncomfortable and even painful and is no real help at getting me walking.

I can't move the leg by myself. Next Monday I am transferring to a rehabilitation centre, I pin all my hopes on them. I wish it could be this week.

Still on the plus side I get a day out on Thursday when I go to have the 2nd round of chemo.

So sorry to hear you are having such issues,is it an Orthopaedic surgery ward or general surgery? At least next week you know you will be getting somewhere

I think it is a general surgery ward. I see physio people once a day for around 20 mins, Monday-Friday.

Another thing I find strange is that between 12-2 the ward seems to stop. Surely the staff should stagger lunches?

I’m sure they do stagger the lunches,in the UK we only get half an hour for a break,however patients mealtimes ,staff breaks and possibly a rest before afternoon activity may make it look quiet

I just told the nurse what the Dr told me, that if I can only bear 1 hour sitting in the chair then they must help me. The nurse replied 1 hour is not good for them, they have 34 patients and only 3 nurses so it's not practical.

I really sympathise with you but people need to bear this in mind when comparing the UK and France,things aren’t all rosey in either country
