Covid jabs

On the UK news today is that numbers have doubled in a week - to 1 in 30 people - but hospitalisation is rare. Seems on a par with common cold or flu now. France is maybe similar?

I think that's correct, but the rate of hospital admissions will be the key factor here. I doubt many folk need medical treatment for a cold. Flu is a different kettle of fish.

We're getting more people in for PCRs because they're cas contact or have contracted the virus. Up until about 2 or 3 weeks ago, most people wanting tests were prior to hospitalisation. We are also dealing with more "malaises" with people coming in who have symptoms, something we rarely had in the past .... and we're short staffed ....

I guess it is better to listen to a Doctor than the BBC!

Plus in addition to Pathca's post remember that hospitalisations tend to lag infections. Whether BA4 and BA5 will lead to more hospitalisations and whether the age range of the vulnerable will be the same as before remains to be seen. Speculating now based on todays data is premature.

I hope he doesn't have side effects. After my 4th I really felt quite poorly. Good luck
