After 4 months - what happens?

@Pachapapa It does depend where you live as to what service you get. Saint-Malo has a population of just over 40,000, then there are all the outlying villages, plus small towns like Dinard and Dinan, so there is a much wider choice of vaccination centres locally.
Doctolib works well enough in this area but I think it was @exile who said that it's hopeless in his area. That said, before Christmas Doctolib couldn't cope with the number of people trying to get RDVs. If Vite Ma Dose works, that's great !

Our local hospital has plenty of vaccine so every day the amounted needed is calculated on the number of appointments registered with a bit of juggling to take in the sans RDV as well. So far, we've never had to turn anyone away because of a shortage of vaccine.

For info our local hospital has a dragon from admin on door duty checking pass sanitaires as you can go in for consultations etc.

@Liz Our doctor's surgery has one of those and it's the doctor's wife!.....and I thought the dragon receptionists were unique to the UK - not so - couldn't find a dragon so you've got a dinosaur emoji

Just run a quick check with VMD for my closest centre.Nothing before 31 January. So it is getting tighter

In the interests of fairness Doctolib has worked well but none of the local sites use it. We got our first shots through Doctolib but had to drive a round trip of 110km each time. The local sites are all run through another organisation - maiia. They require firstly that you book on the internet* (so any of the elderly segment of society without facilities are excluded) and then require a mobile number, which given the number of not-areas here excludes another tranche of people.

* They do give a telephone number which is never answered and whose answerphone by there own admission is not monitored.

It is perhaps then not surprising that when we went to the Maiia centre sans rdv for the booster, there were nearly as many people without appointments as those with.

To add, I went into the sante, vaccination system to check the name of maiia and in doing so noted that the number of centres with any free availability has shrunk dramatically. Within the departement there were just 3 centres whereas before Xmas there were eleven. I guess the surge in cases plus the increase in restriction for unvaccinated is creating a lot of demand.

Yeah two factors.
Firstly the introduction of the "passe vaccinal" next week.
Secondly an announcement as to booster time limits applicable from 15th February.

Just an update. OH went to the pharmacie this morning spoke with the pharmacist who does the vaccs and asked for a RDV for me. He said she looked worn out and produced at least 4 pages of A4 paper with what he thought looked liked around 25 names on each sheet waiting to be called for a jab. Anyhow I am on the list but she couldn't say when I would get the call as she has so many to deal with especially unvaccinated people who need to get their 1st jab done! So I will give it a week before I go elsewhere.

Having spoken again to my pharmacist and not wanting to take the risk of running over my time I took her advice and booked a RDV via Doctolib on my PC. I received my booster last Tuesday and although I preferred to go to the local pharmacie I cannot fault the 40+km round trip to the salle in Mayenne. My RDV was at 10:45. I arrived at 10:35. 14 people in front of me but I was called at 10:50 and was out with my paperwork 3 minutes later! Cannot fault the service.
Now my question is as it's a week since my jab will my EU certificat Digital appear on my Ameli account as previously - it's not arrived as of today. I have scanned the code to our mobile and that shows 3/3 but the mobile usually stays in the house cos I have my non smart mobile with me when I go out. I have scanned & printed off a copy of the paperwork that I received last week which states 3/3 so I can show that if necessary - crikey am I making any sense

@Sparkle Normally the 3rd vax is validated on mobile phones after 7 days and should at some point appear on Amelie. Your paper copy should see you through though a restaurant might refuse you if the QR code doesn't yet register with them. Doctolib had huge software problems last week on their Covid section (it happens from time to time) so there could be a short delay for the details to get onto the system. We were unable to print out copies of the vaccinations and everything had to be done by hand for a couple of hours. Some people have since come back in and we have been able to give them proper printed copies. If you have a problem, your GP should be able to print you a copy as they have access to other sections of Doctolib.
