Rip off hearing aid prices

I've been wearing single in ear hearing aids for about ten years. Anno Domini being what it is,the latest 5 year old model has been slowly losing it's effectiveness & is reaching the end of it's days so I've been considering buying a pair.
The current model cost me over 2,000 € so I'd be looking at somewhere around 5,000€ with very little reimbusement from the state or on my mutual.
An email from Hearing Direct International Ltd https://www.google.com/search?client=fi ... tional+ltd prompted me to examine their products & talk to them for further information.
The result was that I ordered, & received a few days later, a pair of Signia Silk 5Nx for £913 including UPS delivery to France & have been wearing them for 3 days now with brilliant results.
The digital aids are controlled by a Signia app downloaded to my Android phone with 6 adjustable programmes available for varying situations & a little pocket remote is available at about £50. Settings can be remotely adjusted by a HD audiologist in the UK, a fact I've just proved with an adjustment to the TV listening programme.
Service both before & after sales have been nothing short of excellent & so far any doubts I've had about buying online have been dispelled.
If your in the market for hearing aids but balk at French prices & service give them a try.

OH had a rdv with the audiologist this afternoon to have his aids fitted (he's pretty deaf now). He'd been given a choice of 3, ranging from €1900 to €3500 depending on their capabilities (I suppose). The first would be fully reimbursed under the govt's last plan to help folk with hearing, sight and toothy problems. He chose the most expensive as he has tinnitus too, and it was the only one expected to help that problem. I think he'll get quite a dollop back nonetheless via CPAM and our mutuelle.

Thanks for that, LAF! I was quoted €5k for decent, rechargeable aids back in January. No CSS or mutuelle now, so would get very little back from the AM. Are your new ones battery-powered, or rechargeables, please?

Battery powered but they do others which are rechargeable.
They've quite a range so well worth phoning them. They're very helpfull & no high pressure sales.

One of the reasons the Signia Silk 5Nx are cheap is because they are old models, released in 2018, and since superceded by the 5X. They do not have the enhanced fucntionality of later models and the sound processing etc is reportedly better in later models.

The remboursement on my aids from the ss and the mutuelle was the equivalent to the cost of one aid, however 50% of the other aid was taken off my tax bill ,total cost to me was 700€ so french aids aren't that expensive.Plus they are guarunteed 4 years with unlimited visits for adjustments.They have an app also with the ring up facility.Phonak is the make.Bluetooth enabled, also has a thing for the tv.
