Hospital care at home?

Firstly thanks to everyone for your kind wishes on my other thread, especially mangetout.
I've reached the point where I'm depressed about being hospitalised, after 3 months I've had enough.
I don't really need nursing care, I can do my own tablets and even change a dressing, that's all the nurses do for me.
My problem is mobility. The intensive physio I thought I would have here in a re-education clinic just hasn't happened and I am disappointed. My muscles are weak, but I can get in and out of bed of sorts, and manage a few steps.
So I'm beginning to think about going to my daughter's and having hospital care at home.
Has anyone had experience of this and how it's set up?
The food is pretty disgusting too, I've lost 13 kilos since my accident.

We had a company called HAD, hopital a domicile, absolutely fantastic, once had 6 nurses at the same time, think it was because we plied them with coffee, it turned in to a routiers café, but they were very attentive to the old man.

You will need to do it through your doctor or the hospital. They will give you an ordonnance to cover the home treatment you need. The hardest part is finding a good nurse to come out to you, but again the medical people should help you with that. If you are 100% covered it’s just a matter of the nurse scanning your carte vitale Évery now and again.
Best wishes and good luck.
PS as you have lost weight they could also put you on a drip feed overnight for a while to bulk you up - talk to your doctor about that.

Agree with DaveW. OH had a prescription for a physio come to the house every 2 days for a good couple of months after his knee operation and both of us have had nurses come to the house to change dressings after our various accidents/operations.
You can also get any sort of medical material you might need to help you (crutches, raised loo seat for example) on prescription.
I'm not surprised you've had enough of being in hospital after so long - you'll probably heal much better at home with your daughter.
All the best.

I don't know if this is of any use to you whatsoever or even if they operate in your area but I thought I'd post it anyway as a neighbour uses this company so that he can be looked after at home as his wife isn't too capable of looking after him.

If you have a top up health insurance check to see if they offer any post hospitalisation services as part of the contract.

Good to hear you're hopefully on the road to recovery. I hope you can sort out care at home with your daughter - you'll heal and recover so much quicker.
