Flu vaccination

I've got mine in the fridge waiting for it to be injected.

The pharmacy won't do it, because I've had breast cancer in both sides they won't inject into my arms. They're only trained to inject into arms.

I'm thinking of injecting myself, does anyone do their own? Is it just under the skin or into the muscle?

Interesting MOTM2 because although I've had BC in one side, and a lymph node removed, it doesn't seem to be an issue either with my doc or the pharmacy.
All the flu jabs I've had are intra-muscular. I'm used to injecting animals, but I've always avoided humans, including myself.

I have given one injection to a travel companion once, important that you squirt out any air before piercing the muscle and then withdraw the plunger a fraction to ensure no blood is present that you may be intravenous and not intramuscular. then plunge away. It worked on my donkey no problem.

I'd phone the infirmieres and ask them to come and do it, or make an appointment with the dr's if I were you. Best to be safe than sorry.
I'm lucky in the respect that I only lost the lymph nodes on my right side, so I've still got the left arm to be used as a pin cushion.

I had mine done here and the charge to inject was 25 but the vaccine was only 24. Luckily the company and insurance cover cost.

To answer other point it is into the muscle and not just subcutaneous - but not deep into muscle like covid so the needle is finer and shorter than covid vaccine. So much so I barely noticed it (and I really detest needles) yet the covid hurt.

Also, it seemed to be a tiny prefilled syringe with a needle all ready to go - so I am not sure if the bit about not drawing blood would work.

It's in the upper arm muscle.
Our local chemist has always done the jabs except for my Tetanus booster which our nice lady doc did. Chemist is always just turn up & done whilst you wait if you get my drift
Mme had her jab a few days ago & said it was hurty for a day
I'm probably gonna get mine today after boules as long as I remember.
Still debating on Covid jab.
Mme refuses as the last two made her very unwell for a few days.

Mastectomy and removal of lymph nodes was taken seriously in France and in the UK - like others on here, had that on one side, so have always only had jabs on the other side.

I had my flu jab yesterday, quite sore overnight and continuing today; I’m due to have my covid jab tomorrow but have cancelled and now having it next week instead.

OH can't have it and I won't as the three times I have had in the past entailed time off work in complete misery as a result.
