We've had emails invited us to create this 'space' where we can store all our health stuff and share information with health professionals as we wish.
It seems that if we do nothing it will be automatically activated unless we oppose it's creation.
I'm wondering why we need it.
What are your views, if you have received the emails about it?
I found this explanatory non-government link:

How do people live without at least one dog in the house?

Same here Liz, we've both been invited to join this but aren't sure what purpose it serves. Our MT receives copies of everything, as we do, so why is an extra storage space necessary ?

Yes, we've received the emails and at the moment are ignoring them - as you both say what is the purpose?

I understand that the purpose is that should you have an accident away from home or have to be admitted into hospital, health officials can look up all your meds, earlier treatments, tests, etc. Isn't it the same in the UK? (Pathca)
I thought that you would only be enrolled automatically if you had previously registered for DMP - can't remember what it stands for - which, for some reason, is being scrapped.

There isn’t an individualised system in the UK as this would appear to be,there are various apps for storing medical information, but they wouldn’t be all that practical in an emergency. There maybe some means of sharing information held electronically by your ‘home’ area if a situation developed away from there but it wouldn’t be simple
I went to two clinics in the same building and the second couldn’t access my notes from the first because they were on a different computer system

It sounds as if they should be able to do that but I suspect it is not easy.Blaze wrote: ↑Sat Feb 26, 2022 9:47 amCan they not find all that out by their intranet system ?Loup-garou wrote: ↑Sat Feb 26, 2022 9:46 am I understand that the purpose is that should you have an accident away from home or have to be admitted into hospital, health officials can look up all your meds, earlier treatments, tests, etc.
OH has had a number of minor hospital interventions and on every occasion she has been asked to bring her current prescriptions with her. It occurs to me that there may also be a confidentiality issue as well.

The notice says that your site will be created automatically and is inviting you to be able to share in it and have access to it. You can say that you don't want to 'join' but your dossier will be in existence regardless .. unless my French has mislead me.
You have 6 weeks from the receipt of the letter/email to oppose joining.
I am still debating as I am worried about confidentiality issues.

@suein56 Thanks for that Sue. I agree about the confidentiality issues. This bit of the sentence bothers me as we've heard it all before ie '100% secure'
"To enable everyone to keep all their data in one place, in a 100% secure space". Sue do let us know what you decide.
PS: Sue you are correct about having to inform them if you don't want to join. I did the translation the other day via DeepL and it translated as:
"A confidential code will be sent to each insured person, by e-mail or by post, to activate his or her personal space on monespacesante.fr. This code is valid for 6 weeks from the date of sending. It allows to activate the service or to oppose to its creation. After this period of 6 weeks, if the insured has not objected, the personal space will be created automatically. Everyone is free to oppose the creation of their personal space or to close it at any time. It is possible to activate your personal space in a few clicks from a computer, a tablet or a smartphone."
