Beat me to it, elsie . I've been using Trip Advisor for years and it gives a pretty good indication, especially of the ones to avoid!

Talking about restaurants, whatever happened to the old Routières restaurants, often truckers hangouts, mainly privately owned and offering excellent lunches at very cheap prices? Used many of them years ago and never came away feeling quality and price were not right.

Many have closed because they are on main roads which are less busy because of bypasses or increased use of Autoroutes.

Bills for midday meals at a couple of our regular eateries in France and Spain.

Both meals were as much as we could eat.
The oysters come with plenty of chunks of baguette, and butter, and wine was included with the meal in Spain.
