Tonight we have had a traditional beef, veg and red wine casserole, with boiled potatoes and cabbage.
Casserole cooked two days ago when oven was on, then reheated gently tonight on the stove with added slices of nice local turnip and more chestnut mushrooms. Accompanied by a glass or two of Cahors.
Just what I needed after a session of pilates in a chilly salle de fetes.
And there is more than enough left for tomorrow after yoga class
How do people live without at least one dog in the house?

End of year Boules lunch at local resto.
Apero, canapés , scallops on a stick with pumpkin sauce, chicken thighs with boulanger potatoes, tarte tatin & ice cream, coffee ,plus lots of wine to accompany the meal. Absolutely delicious.
Non playing partners dined with us & all 'free' from boules kitty.

I'm cooking beef in ginger and soya sauce with brocolli. It's a stir fry using fondue beef cut into strips. Never tried it before, so wish me luck! Pud will be plums out of the freezer, mango sorbet and homemade blackberry coulis. God knows what my stomach will think of that lot!!!

Done that many times Mangetout. Turned out great every time.

We are having a Jamaican Fish stew with coconut milk, onions, garlic, smoked paprika and a bit hot pepper for dinner tonight.

Thank you Lori. Which recipe is best for your fish stew. Sounds great.
