It was only a couple of months ago I remarked to my sister I'd cracked my first egg with a double yolk in about ten years.

I bought a box of six large free range eggs from Lidl last week. I finished using them yesterday. Four of the eggs had double yolks.

I kept chickens in our first French house (OK, not in the house) and at the beginning of the season, large, double-yoked eggs were the norm.

First time layers often lay double yoked eggs as well.

I haven't had a double yoker for years
