Le Tilleul du Gourmet

I think one or two members have visited La Grange aux Oies in Neuil in the past. It was a fabulous restaurant in the grounds of a stunning chateau, which unfortunately was sold in September 22. Pascal and Patrice (chef and maitre) had rented the place for 20 years and we ate there fairly regularly on special occasions. Like many others, we were saddened when it closed and missed it, but we knew that P & P had plans to open another restaurant.

Heaven only knows how much has been invested in the restoration of a rather splendid town house. One day several months ago we were standing outside looking at what progress we could see on the external features when Pascal spotted us and invited us in for a guided tour of the building site which was inside. He pointed out where various parts of the restaurant would be; the kitchen, the bar, la salle, the magnificent staircase to his office, the terrace and newly added conservatory. Pascal is a man of vision. Finally it is finished. Move on almost 2 years and yesterday the new restaurant opened in Chasseneuil Sur Bonnieure. Already competition to reserve a table is fierce, but luckily I was one of the first to ring and we have a table booked for lunch on Tuesday 23rd at Le Tilleul du Gourmet. Can't wait.
