Re: Hello and Welcome
Probably best leave the administration to Char, she’s more than competent.

Char Its the Avro Vulcan strategic bomber in service with the RAF between 1956 and 1984. My father was an RAF engineer and subsequently worked for Fairy Aviation during the 1950s and 60s. He would take me to the Farnborough air show where the Vulcan - A simply magical aircraft was displayed - this picture from BAE is at the show in 1959.

Re: Hello and Welcome
Hi,
I was when much younger, I lived in London so regularly visited the airports just to watch the planes.
By chance when driving through Norfolk with my dad the Vulcan was just taking off and the noise was just amazing. As oldblueraincoat says it is an amazing aircraft. It is such a shame that none of them fly any more.
There are still some on display around the UK, and a couple still do taxi runs just so that the engines get a start, and it is just a wonderful sound to hear.
This plane flew from the UK during the Falklands war, with a stop at Ascension Island and a number of in flight refuelling rendez-vous, and bombed the Port Stanley airfield and made it unusable to the Argentines. A real feat and escapade, and there is a very interesting book about it.
If you like planes, try to find a video of the Vulcan, there are quite a few on the internet.
