Strictly legal refused it saying it should be on Strictly Fiscal, where I subsequently put it, at the moment 4 answers 3 of which conclude that the insurance should have been cancelled by you, but the 4th throws up a question that the bank said to leave the account open as there would be no charges associated with the account, which in fact was not proved to be true. Either way it's worth the letter to the head honcho or just cough up and put it down to experience.

Thanks Hugh for taking the trouble to post for me. I think that the safest way will to to pay the 12 euros, then progress my complaint to the head honcho as suggested. Once again many thanks for your trouble.
