OH received a 'Are you still alive' form to complete before he had even received his first pension payment. So, when they say that such letters are randomly generated I believe them.

Great excitement yesterday when a letter arrived from DWP. Turned out to be hard copies of the S1

S1 Certificate
Getting to retirement age, I became elegible for my own S1, until now I had been piggy backed on my wifes, after dealing with the NHS helpline, they informed me that they would contact the French authorities and provide them with my S1 and sort out all the paperwork, on receiving the hardcopy, it said that I had to send the copies to my local CPAM office, I contacted the NHS helpline, again they said, dont do anything, we will deal with it, they sorted it all out, i was removed from my wifes account, and given my own by CPAM.
I contacted NHS helpline again, just to let them know, all went well and thank them, and for my own interest said I have a friend who will be elegible later this year, is it the norm that you deal with it all now?
The reply was that my friend would have to contact them when the time came, and they would instruct him on what if anything he would need to do.
So it may have been becouse I was already covered under an existing S1, who knows.
