Insulating your walls with a government subsidy?

#1 Post by RobertArthur »

Are you thinking of insulating your walls or installing a wood-fired boiler? Don't delay. The MaPrimeRénov’ government subsidy for these two types of renovation will disappear on 1 January 2026. The government has justified these cuts as part of a ‘refocusing’ policy. It is maintaining insulation assistance only for attics. This is unfortunate, as wall insulation is a priority when it is necessary. The Amorce association, which brings together local authorities and local stakeholders, has requested that it be reinstated in the MaPrimeRénov scheme without delay.

With regard to wood heating, the scheme will focus on ‘wood/pellet stoves that are affordable for low-income households’. However, boilers have not lost their appeal and remain efficient appliances that are well suited to cold areas. It is therefore difficult not to see this as a mere desire to save money.

And not always a perfect solution.....
