Claiming reimbursement after taking someone to hospital..

#1 Post by Bayleaf »

Wasn't quite sure how to word the title!

If someone has an appointment at a hospital, which may mean they're unable to drive, they can get a soin de rembursement pour transport? (Or something like that). It used to be possible that a friend or family member could be the driver (rather than an external taxi), and submit the form for reimbursement of travel expenses. I was able to do it years ago when taking OH to hospital - and the Dr gave us the special form.

I couldn't see this option on the current form, does anyone know if this is still available or is it only for commercial taxis now?

I'm not an expert in this field, not at all. After a quick look around on the internet it looks like that it is still possible under certain conditions. Wouldn't it be wise to contact the attending physician? He/she should be able to answer that question right away. It seems like a common question that close family members or friends might ask.

Ah, that's the one! Thank you - I've advised the person in question to contact her Doc for the necessary form, as she's having trouble getting a taxi.
