Uk to French driving licence

#1 Post by Spectrum »

My UK licence expires in June of this year so after looking on line for help old FE webpage the pages are laid out differently as shown but same questions, so log on through Impots. gov, go to Ants, fill in a few pages and then this ( Votre titre de séjour ou votre visa ne nécessite pas que vous échangiez votre permis de conduire.

Si vous souhaitez obtenir un courrier d’information vous précisant le cadre de votre autorisation de conduire en France sous couvert de votre permis national, merci de valider ce message, de remplir votre état-civil sur la page suivante et de demander l’édition du courrier d’informations. )
Have I done something wrong or is there better information out there, it appears I tried last year but got lost in the paperwork, so had to officially abandon that application and start a new one. Have got all the document saved but not been asked for any. :? :? :?

Technically what it says is correct, you do not have to exchange your licence. But legally you cannot renew your uk licence without a valid UK address.

So there must be a way on the ants site of getting past that message, and continuing with your application, you could try going to your mairie and see if they can help, or often garages have ants accounts to provide a service for renewing vehicle documents, maybe they could also help you with your driving licence.

You might want to check out this Facebook page. There is a LOT of information provided there regarding exchanging UK licenses.

My wife had issues getting her licence replaced which turned out to be an error when her CdeSejour was authorised and printed. We made an appointment at a local France Service office and they helped us sort it out. They have also helped with tax queries (nearer than the Tax Office).

They have telephone numbers for agencies not available to the public so they can query/check things quickly.
