Talking to my bank, it appears they will only provide mortgages on primary residences in France for those with French income.
Whilst they do offer a facility for frontaliers to transfer their salaries directly into a French account to meet the second requirement - none applies to me.
So does anyone have any thoughts, recommendations or experiences of banks or brokers offering mortgages on second homes to non-residents? I am sure the same issues would apply to those living and working in UK buying a second home in France.
edit to add - looking at various on-line brokers, there is a minimum of 150K or 200K - way more than I want to borrow.
TIA

WE got our mortage via a broker _ Abbey - who may well no longer be in business. The mortgage itself was from BNP so it might be that would be a way forward. The amount was way less than you are suggesting.
This of course was a long time ago and with money laundering rules and property being a well known mechanism for laundering illicit money, the rules may well have changed and perhaps the checks needed mean it is uneconomic for lower value borrowing.

We do a lot of BNP foreclosure translations, but the banks are generally being more wary nof spending on mortgages.
