Inheritance question

To satisfy the Solicitors acting on my father's Will, I have to provide proof that I've never been bankrupt in France.

I have been given a link to try: https://www.bodacc.fr/?fbclid=IwAR3u4SO ... K3Ld4Ut9VA which is apparently what the Notaires use. But I've either put in a search several times and the result will come back in a few months' time, or it is just looping and I don't know what I'm doing wrong! It doesn't say search has gone through, and the answers are pretty simple!

How else can you prove you haven't been bankrupt?

Thats rather strange,although can't help, mami's father died intestate as he made a will had it witnessed but didn't signe it himself, she's the only inheritor and probate took a long time but never a question like yours.
Mad will more than likely know.

No personal experience of this situation .. but I usually consult our Notaire's office for anything I need to know of a legal nature. As in the UK a good étude will give freely of their time with advice and help .. the only time costs occur is if a dossier is opened.

I can't begin to count the number of free interviews I have had over our years here *.

*Mostly involving helping an elderly, fragile ex-UK resident who is housebound, lives in a rented flat and has had a series of awkward proprietors.

I wasn't asked for this when Mum died, but that was back in 2004 and I wonder if it's new rules now the UK isn't in the EU. My brother, now resident in NZ, also has to do it.

I guess at least it means Dad might have actually left us something!

As I said mami wasn't asked for her fathers estate and thats long after brexshit as he died in February. Good luck, not a good thing to be going through.

As an Executor of an Estate you are responsible for ensuring that any inheritance due is paid or transferred to the correct person. However did you know that if a bankruptcy order is in place, then payment of inheritance or transfer of assets, such as a house, direct to the beneficiary is distribution to the wrong person?

It just goes to show that the solicitors handling mami's inheritance were even more inept than we accused them of being at the time.

When Dad died a few years ago we weren't asked for that, but hand-written declarations carry a lot of weight in legal matters here, so maybe you could suggest doing that?
