How to change background of a photo

My DIL has sent me a lovely photo of one of our granddaughters. She is sitting on the floor but behind her is their kitchen equipment etc.

Is there a way to phase out the background and just make it a suitable colour with our granddaughter in front?

I'm a bit of a numpty with things like this so thanks for any help

You need to look for a cutout program.

I have a copy of Franzis Cutout 6 which I downloaded when there was a free giveaway.

I've just tried this online service https://www.cutout.pro Just upload your photo. It will process the image and then give you a choice of backgrounds.
Seems to work. You get one free credit to download a full size image. This is a the low resolution output
This is a photo a posted here earlier. Possibly a bit complex as there are lots of components, but it did a reasonable job. Just an image of a person would work - as shown in the examples

The registration process is a bit complicated and you need to put the registration code in twice

It worked really well, I changed the background to a pale pink.... now to get it printed off
