Notre Dame d'Espérance on the top of Mont Dol, Ille et Vilaine.
A magnificent 360° view from the top.
You can just about see the lightning conductor on the top of her head : She was once struck by lightning and she and the top of the tower were damaged.

Lovely photo, Blaze. Presumably it"s a chapel?

Thank you Mad.
No, the Chapelle St Michel is a few yards away. It used to be a telegraph/signal station before being demolished and a little chapel built in its place, and is dedicated to Notre Dame d'Espérance, who protected workmen and mariners. The tower is ... just a tower !
It's all been beautifully kept without any frills. It's a stunning place, worth a visit (it's a short, very steep climb up there but there are 2 small car parks ...)

Very nice Blaze. I've nicked this from Wiki. The tower of St Ursuline is privately owned by an artist but cannot be seen from the direction she is looking. Sad really, because I have no idea what she is looking at.

Fort du Guesclin, which is in private hands after being abandoned following an inheritance disagreement .. The rocks on which it stands is accessible at low tide.
