Covid test

#1 Post by hughnique »

Probably been covered somewhere but a lot of the Google info seems outdated, as of now do you need to take a covid test before returning to the UK from France.

You don't need a pre-departure test to return by ferry so is it different for the tunnel?

Latest info is that a PCR test is not needed if you are fully vaccinated but you will need to take an LFT test (not the free one) within 2 days of returning to the UK after October 24th, according to the travel company I'm using [edited to add in 2 day requirement].

Personal update: Wife and I took 2 LFTs while in Portugal because of a possible exposure (we were contacted by the Portuguese MoH), both tests were negative. Returned to UK and we took the obligatory test two days after arrival - our travel company had provided PCR swabs before the change in rules to allow LFTs. Two days later my wife was reported Covid negative but I was positive. I come out of self-isolation at midnight on the 10th - fortunately I've been completely asymptomatic.

Covid test

An associate rang me yesterday, as a result of me being in contact with him last Friday, he was unwell with flu like symptoms and has tested positive for Covid, so off down the pharmacy for that swab up the nose for both of us, both negative, thank God, only took a couple of minutes, just hope it is accurate.
