Macron's speach yesterday

#11 Post by elsie »

If you look at the reader comments in newspapers, e.g. Le Figaro https://www.lefigaro.fr/politique/covid ... n-20211109
L'OBS https://www.nouvelobs.com/politique/202 ... -bien.html
Le Point https://www.lepoint.fr/politique/allocu ... 433_20.php
you will see a very different opinions and many comments on the failure of Macron to carry out his 2017 manifesto (institutional reform, pensions, decentralization, insecurity, immigration, purchasing power, deficits, debt) from those self-selecting groups of French.

Yes, well Le Fig and NouvelObs are at opposite ends of the political spectrum whereas Le Point is cenre-right, so opposing opinions are expected. I imagine that if I'd had to manage a pandemic, I'd let other, less urgent, matters slide while striving to save lives. How stupid so many people are.

France has dealt with the health crisis rather well (toujours imo) and cerrtainly far better than many developed countries.

Unfortunately the goalposts re age have changed - we were not considered vulnerable or of an age when we were vaccinated for the first time in June (it wasn't 65 then ...). Thus we are not eligible for our 3rd jab until January. If we can't go to restaurants after the 15 December, too bad, it's not really a problem. But it's hardly our fault !!

Gabriel Attal, this morning on behalf of the government :
Concernant les personnes de plus de 65 ans, Gabriel Attal a indiqué qu'ils devront effectuer leur troisième dose, ou dose de rappel s'ils ne veulent pas que leur pass sanitaire soit désactivé. "C'est le 15 décembre que le pass sanitaire sera désactivé pour les personnes de plus de 65 ans, qui ont réalisé leur 2e dose il y a plus de 6 mois et 5 semaines, et qui n'ont pas fait leur rappel" a indiqué le porte-parole du gouvernement.
So, if you're over 65 and have your pass do check the date of the last dose, and get your booster booked - must be done by 6 months and five weeks after your last one.
It's reported that since Macron spoke last night Doctorlib was very busy with peeps booking up!
How do people live without at least one dog in the house?
