Whilst Omicron is milder than previous variants, I still cannot smell anything after my second infection in April - and after three vaccinations.

We wear them at work, unsurprisingly because many people coming in are infected. We're going to wear masks in busy places although pharmacies have always insisted on it.

I've never stopped wearing them, but I've become a minority of 1 here, unless OH remembers to put one on.

Here we go again?

Covid numbers are rising again - different variants are spreading. Restrictions being imposed on anyone coming from China. Is it now just added to the general list of common ailments? What really gets my goat is when someone says "post Covid", which is inaccurate, as it implies it's gone. It hasn't, regardless of continued vaccinations - just like flu, we'll be living with it forever. Some can shrug it off, some will continue to take preventative measures - we're the latter!

I still wear a mask and gel my hands. I got into the habit when my husband was alive to protect him. Now I'm on my own I need to try and stay in good health, plus I don't want to give anything to others.

I still wear a mask in all indoor locations. Hand get after departure from any indoor location. It has become a habit now. Seems everywhere I go, I see sick folks. Of course, I have no idea what illness they are suffering from, but I suppose that is the point.

I've been watching Covid Tracker which shows general trends and according to that site, numbers are down since last week. We had 80 odd people in for PCR testing yesterday morning for operations, travel and symptoms which has been the Monday morning average for several weeks (up from the autumn). PCRs and antigènes are registered, but home tests aren't, so accurate figures are impossible. There are the usual winter bugs going round that we didn't have for the last 2 winters because of masks/restrictions. We get people coming unmasked for testing despite the fact that, certainly in this area, masks are required in all medical establishments.

China's rapid back pedalling on their Covid policy/travel is likely to see positive cases slipping through and bringing the virus with them. We were expecting the centre to close at the end of January, but this could change ... yet again.

There’s a lot of nasty viruses doing the rounds at the moment I am suffering, and so are a lot of my family who I spent Christmas with,as said two years of wearing masks have had a knock on effect
