Pass sanitaire to become Pass Vaccinal

#1 Post by Blaze »

Latest from Jean Castex tonight is that he's presenting a Bill in January to transform the pass sanitaire to a pass vaccinal.
He's determined to put pressure on those who refuse to be vaccinated. Only vaccinations will be counted, not negative tests.
The delai between the 2nd and 3rd doses will drop from 5 months to 4 months from the 3rd January.

The change in delai will affect vaccination centres. When the delai dropped to 5 weeks, people who already had RDVs wanted to be done earlier, without a rendez vous. It's already difficult balancing the doses to be able to do the sans rendez vous - our centre orders a number of doses according to those booked in on Doctolib, but with only a small margin for whatever reason, possibly lack of storage facilities. Now we're likely to get even more people trying to get in early and with only 2 of us on the accueil, it slows down the sausage machine - they'll simply be turned away. The Mairie won't give us more facilities ....

Our centre is going to be using Moderna from Monday for the next 2 weeks and from the beginning of January we'll be doing Moderna and Pfizer on specific days. A lot of people aren't going to be happy ...

We almost had a punch up the other day in the "bleachers", the area where the non RDV people wait, when there was an argument about who was next in the queue

I much prefer such pressure to compulsion - although I understand Macron has not ruled out compulsory vaccination.

Agreed, J. People like to feel they have a choice, though they are often reluctant to assume it ....

And everyone's favourite airline CEO has added his 2c:

"If you're not vaccinated, you shouldn't be allowed in the hospital, you shouldn't be allowed to fly, you shouldn't be allowed on the London Underground, and you shouldn't be allowed in the local supermarket or your pharmacy either.

“You can sit at home and you know, get your deliveries of medicines and food. But you should not, you know, go to work or go on public transport unless you have a vaccine certificate.”

According to what we heard on lunchtime news, the Bill will be presented on Monday because of the alarming rise in infections.
It is hoped that the pass sanitaire will become a pass vaccional will come into force in the first two weeks of January.

It must be very hard for accueil staff in centres which mix rdvs and non-booked in the same seance.
How do people live without at least one dog in the house?

Yes it is ! Many turn up thinking they will automatically be vaccinated and we have to explain that with Pfizer the doses are calculated carefully to ensure there is no waste. So the number of people sans RDV accepted depends on the number of people who are turned away (wrong age, to early etc) or who don't turn up for their RDV.

Starting yesterday, we are doing Moderna for 2 weeks. The Moderna vaccine is more flexible than Pfizer to take sans RDVs so everyone that turned up today was done. There were a few people who turned up for their RDV but refused Moderna. Fortunately most people weren't bothered.

It's just a question of adapting and we have a good team. From 3 January we will be doing Pfizer and Moderna on different days (we don't know yet how it will be organised). We know some people will not be happy but we just have to faire avec ...

I completely agree and the team were doing a super job on Saturday in keeping a balance but in part it is their own fault. To register with the organisation maiia.com you can ring - but the phone is never answered and the answer machine says that messages will not be responded to - or you have to do it on line (eliminating a portion of the mainly elderly population) and as part of that process provide a French mobile number. There are so many not-spots round here that another tranche of would be accepters are excluded since a mobile phone is as useful as a chocolate tea pot.
