Intermezzo: from the roaring sounds to the quiet and peaceful French countryside where low-revving engines - keep them rolling - are always nearby on a walking tour, two worlds apart:

Goodness gracious me - I've never seen anything quite like that before. What were they thinking.

@ Char, what were they thinking? Whodunit? The answer is blowing in the wind, across the Channel. Right side steering wheel, registration plate of the United Kingdom. Made in France - or in Citroën's plant in Slough? - stretched in the UK and then exported to the Netherlands. Several years later still standing there, in front of a specialized 2CV garage, exposed to the weather. More limousine conversions.

Thanks RobertArthur, some very strange looking cars on that link - whoever did that to the Ferrari should be locked up, that's just not right.

Char, in the link to limousine conversions a stretched Citroën 2CV: snapshots of its construction in Germany just across the Dutch border, a slideshow.

Quote: ' The car has been approved by the Netherlands Vehicle Authority and is allowed on the public roads. The engine is still original, but has been bored out. There is also a gearbox from a Citroën GS mounted as well as the brake calipers from a GS. The suspension is original, but double at the front and rear.'
