Hi,
I was wondering what to write as my first post on this forum when I realised it's a year to the day since my baby succumbed to rust.
Here we are in happier times.

We used to have one in the '80's ( loved it :D ) and, when the opportunity came to join a vintage car club, we hunted one out. Sadly Covid put paid to the rallies and 18 months sitting idle was the final nail in the coffin. Had to admit I shed a tear when I left her at the breakers yard.

Berlin's oldest taxi in 2012, still on the road? Have a closer look. Or this one, a Peugeot 404 in 2017?

What about the Bugatti experience? Someone I met at a birthday party several years ago acquired a real classic Bugatti. He was able to track the history of his car with the help of a Frenchman who was already busy searching the archives of many French police stations where most of the old registration data of all the French Bugattis are still hanging around in dusty corners.

His car, the intro of its history:

Information Bugatti Molsheim.
Chassis 441070/835 was delivered by the factory on 26 June 1929 delivered to Giraud & Hoffmann Avenue du Prado in Marseille. The factory's delivery list states that 441070 and 441071 were delivered on the same day.
The price was 48,000 francs, which is the correct price for a chassis without bodywork. Chassis 441070 was registered in Marseille on 8 August 1929, probably the bodywork was built locally, during the 6 weeks between delivery and issue of the registration number.

Forgotten French classic cars and so every now and then also an interesting barn find in the UK., but these cars are not ready for an auction, not at all.... And more, as far as the eye can see.

I think it is sad when these cars (at least in France) are reallocated a new format matriculation.

What are the rules on number plates themselves - silver on black vs black on white?
