The magnificent XK150. I had a 3.8 BRG E-Type Coupe which I loved but would also have liked an XK150. Or 140 for that matter.

In my opinion the only disadvantage would be for somebody who wanted to use their vehicle professionally. There are huge advantages, the most obvious in my experience being the insurance price when I have my VdC plus an ‘everyday’ car insured with the same company.curtis wrote: ↑Thu Aug 25, 2022 12:40 pm All but one of my cars are on carte grise normale and will stay that way. The CT every two years doesn't worry me, I have a guy who understands older cars. My concern is that at some point CGC registered cars may go back to some limitations/restrictions; it would be easy to implement. For me I don't see any advantage.

@ Wilbro, this XK150 from front to tail.....Too much sunshine to make good pictures of the interior, glass reflections, and my good old Nikon FM camera with polarizing filter to remove glare in a drawer at home.

I have to say I haven't compared my car insurances. My modern cars are with another company.DominicBest wrote: ↑Mon Sep 05, 2022 10:29 amIn my opinion the only disadvantage would be for somebody who wanted to use their vehicle professionally. Anything from the XK120 to the early E-type would delight me. Jaguar were designing truly beautiful cars back then. I very nearly bought a new one in 1965 but then heard the gearbox had no sychromesh into first gear. For some reason that put me off. I bought a Stingray instead.

I've got a Jaguar hood ornament - I must try harder to find all my photos of old cars, I've lost them somewhere.

I don't harbour many regrets about my life but I really wish my travelling and erratic income hadn't stopped me keeping some of my old cars. So much fun. So much character. All easily fixable.
But today they all cost as much as a house to get your hands on one. Even a crap one.

Errrrrrr.............
Over many years I have gone from thinking the DS was the ugliest car on the planet to eventually coming to realise how futuristic and innovative it was for its time. I have even grown to quite like it. I must also admit, the estate/Ambulance version is still pretty awful.
