It looks like some French are yearning to return to "les trentes glorieuses", the three decades after World War II of economic growth and growing purchasing power for all citizens. And the security attributed to this era. I see more and more very well-maintained 2CVs driving around with French number plates. Not only foreigners who want to relive authentic France that way.

And the 2cv is ripe for customising too.

Michelin was looking for a special car to test their tires. Rather expensive such a special made Citroën DS.

It has taken me decades to come to appreciate the DS, such a brave design when the rest of Europe was still in the dark ages but that's downright weird. :? :?

@ Hotrodder, a very special creature indeed, also as a try out for high speed poids lourds. Read and see all about it, video included.

One of my sisters-in-law, no driving license, ready for the road, in the fifties.

Wow! If I'm not mistaken that's about a '51 or '52 Oldsmobile. My grandfather's first car after he emigrated to the US. He soon got used to the power and wasn't afraid to use it whenever someone dared to overtake him.

Maybe that was the influence that caused my petrol head syndrome. :?
