Saw this video today, brought back so many memories!
First bike at 16 in '78. I would love to get one now, but prices have gone through the roof!

Another clean machine.
Stolen from outside my house in a salubrious part of London.
I found it about a month later

Heartbreaking at the time I expect. :(
On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.

When I went to Australia in the 1960's I left this MG safely in a neighbour's garden.
It is an "F" type Magna, rare even then, on which I had done a great deal of work.
AA MG F Magna Epping 1959.jpg
My mother wrote to tell me the neighbour was moving and the car had to be moved.
I replied that I would try to find someone in England to store it, but if this was not possible I suppose I'd have to sell it.
While I was still trying to arrange for it to be moved, my mother wrote saying not to worry, she had sold it to a young student - for £20 !
I had recently paid £5 each for four reconditioned genuine MG knock-on wheel nuts.
There was nothing much I could do at the time, as she didn't have the buyer's details, but later I posted this picture, the only one I have, in a couple of motoring magazines, with no result.
The DVLA site shows it still on the road, technically it was sold illegally, but I can't do much 60 years later.

It wasn’t all bad news. By the time of the discovery I was renting a company VT 500

@Nomoss
That reminds me of an Austin 7 which was driven to and from Australia in 1969 by someone called Graham Rankin. I still remember it - it's registration was VAT 69 ! I've no idea what became of it ....

Last year, I happened to strike up a conversation with the proud owner of this Suzuki. Maybe a future classic I thought. He had fitted this bike with various extras, not the overpriced ones from Suzuki itself, but from suppliers in the PRC, for a fraction of the official list price.

Beam us up Scotty, to the future.
