Just been introduced to https://www.memorylane.co.uk/ which has some great old photos of my home town.
Apparently it's the biggest collection of British photos.
Maybe worth a look at your old town.

Cant say I have ever been in one place in UK long enough to be sentimental, but some fascinating photos.

Thanks very much for this, spent a bit of time this morning having a look at Huddersfield, my home town, a few pics I have first hand knowledge of which was nice to see but I don't want to bore anyone, and Iam sure if you look for your home town/city you will also find a connection.

Thank you - I will look later as I think I shall need quite a bit of time!
With this hand, I will lift your sorrows. Your cup will never be empty, for I will be your wine. With this candle, I will light your way into darkness. With this ring, I ask you to be mine.........The Corpse Bride

Here is another excellent site with map and prints etc. one can buy but it lets you browse hundreds, if not thousands, of cities, towns and villages. https://www.francisfrith.com/
