When Macron was first elected I saw it as a breath of fresh air for French politics, a young centrist with a vision.
Since then, I have seen that he is a divsive, narcisstic populist.
Last weekend's votes have cemented his fate.
As Le Figaro said, he has a "Still Born" presidency.
The small group of Republicans have already said that they won't deal with him.Therefore.
Without a majority, he can't put any legislation through without dealing with either the Corbynista far left or the far right.
There will not be a great meeting of minds there, so to get anything through, he will have to make large concessions to extremists.
None of this is good news for France.
He is basically a lame duck President for the next five years.
I reckon he will give it about a year, see what he can do and if that's not working, call an election.
Macron.

Macron.
I beg to differ, Richard. While I believe there'll be a rerun of the législatives within a year if there's no working alliance, it's too early to predict what's going to happen in the house (as tagh says).
Of the 3 personalities involved, the biggest ego - in my humble opinion - is that of Monsiueur je-suis-la- république JL Mélenchon. Narcissist? Mél wrote the manual!
