Woman receives €204,000 payout for 25 years of unpaid housework in record divorce settlement
A Spanish court has ordered a businessman to pay his ex-wife €204,000 (£182,000) as compensation for 25 years of unpaid housework in a record divorce settlement.
Judge Laura Ruiz Alaminos, sitting at a court in Velez-Malaga in southern Spain, calculated the payment based on the minimum monthly professional wage for the quarter century the couple were married.
According to the ruling made public on Tuesday, the husband must also pay Ivana Moral a pension of €500 (£444) per month as well as €400 (£356) and €600 (£533) to his two daughters, who are now aged 20 and 14.

The cost of housework
