I took a "sickie" off work when I lived in Germany and they were playing somewhere near Hannover in the early 70s. It was amazing and held in the open air.
There are a lot of concerts in this area, particularly in the summer, but we're not too keen on crowds these days ...

It was Lytham Proms the other week, since then the number of cases in Fylde has shot up, I think people are being too complacent if an event is outdoors

Sweet memories, free concert in Hyde Park, 4th of July 1969. " For a short time on Thursday there were great doubts that tomorrow's free concert in Hyde Park by the Rolling Stones would take place. The tragic death of former Stone Brian Jones cast a shadow on all the well-laid plans."

Mick Jagger's introduction, a poetic tribute to Brian Jones. The Evening Standard was also present with a special souvenir edition, read all about it on the lower half of the page.
