Passport stamping
No they shouldn't - but you need to show them both in and out of the EU. Based on my limited experience, even if though my passport was stamped on the way in, that was ignored on my way out, when I remembered to show my TdS.

Passport stamping
Quite right, show both. Passport stamping is not necessary and only indicates either dozy, inattentive or undertrained staff.
