School Uniforms

#11 Post by Wilbro »

As a grammar school boy in the 1950's we all had to wear uniforms and the strongest feeling was one of pride that we all had to be going to the grammar school. Strict adherence was demanded, one boy was admonished in front of the whole school for wearing orange socks and sent home to change, but I don't recollect any comparison of wear. It was a boys' school so it probably didn't matter to us.

I didn't like school uniforms when I had to wear one. I didn't like them when my children had to wear them. It was so nice when we moved over here and our daughter could go to school in normal clothes, so I hope they don't bring them in over here.
