What I hadn't realised until now is that the double authentication from the bank is not from the bank's side : it's the company that requests it. I don't mind doing it if it makes a transaction more secure - just a question of having my bank card and extra code available, and my mobile switched on.
I don't use many different on line sites, mainly Amazon and a dog food site.
Just had a nice email from MaSanté telling me my new card is ready

I am one of those rare deviant types that would never own a smartphone but my bank and an increasing number of other entities require me to receive a security code by SMS. I wouldn't mind if they would send the code to my email address but they refuse.
My mobile isn't a smart phone but it's 2G so I may have to change it later this year. The bank does send codes to it.

Just had an email supposedly from a friend saying can we have a chat by email. We always chat on the phone ,so rang,to find out that her Outlook account has been hacked. Some recipients answered it to get a begging reply that they were in hospital and needed to get a gift card for someone and could they do it for them. Her Outlook has now been blocked. Be careful!!
Following my previous post : a friend who also got this email has just been scammed for £500. I thought she ,and her daughter, are pretty savvy, but it just goes to show it could happen to anyone. Be VERY careful

But when all the keys to your house are stolen elsewhere, it becomes increasingly difficult to keep thieves out.

So very helpful of them, not. A recommendation to change your password would have been more helpful.
