Wait and see. AI certainly seems to be reducing the need for deductive reasoning among the young. But mine is only a fleeting interest. With the fools and psychopaths that are running the world these days it may not really matter.
On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.

When the creator(s) of AI are already regretting the whole thing - and you read how much water the machines use/how much heat is given off/how bad it all is for the environment, I'd say that's real cause for concern. That's without even getting into how it can be twisted for the gain of the evil few currently fcking up the world at the moment.

It's a no from me.

I think the evil few are perfectly capable of screwing up the world without the help of AI !

Unfortunately people are using it to write text for themselves which is fine until you find that at uni, say, several people have similar work. Teaching staff won't have any idea if the students really know/understand what they have learnt or not.
I know it’s happened ,a group of people asked to write an essay produced nearly identical pieces. When questioned it was denied but random students were asked to read their first line out and they were all pretty much the same

Since a recent update, when I ask my laptop a question it flashes "Thinking" for a few seconds. I think "No, your not, your searching". It's these invasive steps to humanise AI that pi$$es me off.

Tools are always usefull, but should only be used to aid you, not replace the thought process, even going back 40 odd years to college, in a maths lesson the lecturer was working through a large equation, everyone noticed that every time there was a calculation, he turned to his desk and did it on his calculator, then wrote the result on the board, eventually the whole class burst out laughing, he stopped puzzled why we were laughing, then got very embarrassed when he realised the last calculation he did on his calculator, was 1 ÷ 2, he had done it and written 0.5 on the board whithout even noticing.
