Can recommend it, we both went into ours a few years ago.
Mami took hersback to early 1800
Took mine back to 1700.
An eye opener, my mum always told the story that we were related to money
It seems we are to the Carnegies but on the wrong side of the sheets, no not a young Carnegie man having his way with the maid, it was a Carnegie daughter with a lowley man.
Hence my Scottish ancestors.
Found a Scottish link on my mothers side as well, Robertsons, I have a photo of my great grand-dad Robertson on our kitchen wall, although I never met him he's my mentor, but I won't go into that.

One of my cousins gave me a pile of photos my father and his family, my mother having thrown away all the family stuff when she went wonky.
So far my paternal side is documented to 940 (Viking rapists and pillagers in Normandy).

I do wish they'd written on some of the photos where, when they were taken and who was in the photo - there are photos of what I assume to be family members who I have no idea who they are, and there's no-one I can ask. Which has made me decide to go through all my piccies and make notes ..

Having rescued most of our photos from our son who had them in his cellar for years .. I bought some smart boxes to store them in.
So that meant going through them, sorting them into some kind of order and deciphering who was who.
Disappointingly I have had to throw quite a few away .. some pics were tiny, the people barely visible and no idea of date, era or who these people might have been .. and no one to ask as we were a small family and I'm an only child.
So I have been pencilling on the back of the ones I do recognise and that our children might not ..
Gosh .. it's not finished by any means tho I reckon it's going to take me ages.

Scan them on to your PC, they won’t deteriorate and should be easy to view. I did all our old pre-digital photos - it took a while but it was fun looking at them all again.

I have a memory of a monkey I was in the Church lads Brigade in Downend a suburb of Bristol Circa 1960 we set up a hand driven organ barrow next to the War memorial to sell/ask donations for Red Poppies and we had a small monkey on the lid with a red collar and lead no questions asked it seemed to go with he organ. Thinking about it many people including relatives had ancient Grey Parrots looking back that was also odd

About 15, or maybe more, years ago I decided to go through a couple of suitcases and some boxes full of photos that my Dad unloaded on to me when Mum died.

I made a brave start scanning and downloading onto a hard drive. After a couple of months of toil I gave up for a rest, and haven't returned to the task since. The suitcases are still taking up room at the entrance to one of my sheds and are a pain in the arse. No idea when, if ever, I will restart.

But one memory persists. I reckon I must have been about 10 and my brother 6. We were on holiday with Mum and Dad, probably Llanfairfechan, when Dad saw a shop where silhouette images were made. He decided it would be nice to have a record of his 2 boys. The results are surprisingly accurate, I could easily recognise our features from them. Sadly I don't know where they are now, would be nice to have, since John died aged only 47 in 1995.

I too have a photo of me when I was about 7 or 8 years old holding a monkey.

My elder cousin was standing next to me with a parrot on her shoulder and I was struggling to hold this little monkey as he was quite heavy for a small boy to hold.

He was wearing a waistcoat..........

It was taken in Aldgate Market in London's East End and I do vaguely remember it.
