Happy Birthday Spardo

@Chappers51 and @exile thank you, and to @Bayleaf , no nothing out of the ordinary, we simply don't recognise anniversaries of any kind in this house be they personal (birthdays, weddings) or general (religious). Just seems so pointless with just the 2 of us. I do keep records of peoples' and dogs' comings, goings and final departures though, a time for happy memories, but never to the extent that we mark them in any way.

Had a Skype with son and grandkids though this afternoon which was nice and, as he is on holiday in Nottingham there is not the awkward time difference to contend with, as with Thailand. But sadly, his visit here will not be possible for obvious reasons.

@Veem No I missed it and will try to catch up on it tomorrow. There is a lot of info and interest at the moment, about the joys, health benefits and sensible precautions for instance. :D

Thank you. :D
In the butcher's this morning I couldn't remember the name of the cheese I always buy a large chunk of there. He waited, knife poised as I wrestled with my brain, and while I was doing that he told me that my French was better than my English, he speaks a little English so I took that as a compliment, although slightly miffed that he thought my English wasn't up to scratch.
Good job the French have an (otherwise) annoying patience for the dalliance of those ahead of them in the queue but eventually I exploded CANTAL, and everybody breathed a sigh of relief.
I explained that I am a year older than I was yesterday.

@Spardo 'I explained that I am a year older than I was yesterday'. Maybe you could have said that you are a day older than you were yesterday and a day younger than you will be tomorrow
With this hand, I will lift your sorrows. Your cup will never be empty, for I will be your wine. With this candle, I will light your way into darkness. With this ring, I ask you to be mine.........The Corpse Bride

Thank you too Blaze, and to Sparkle, my mind doesn't work that way. In fact the opposite, being born at the end of the year I always subtract 42 from 122 and get.............80. So I have in my mind aged 2 years since Wednesday.
